God & Zippers

Two weeks ago it took me 30 minutes to unzip myself out of a dress. It may have been the acrylic nails I was wearing. As a result, I had the acrylic soaked off.

I felt as if I could save my coins and wear my natural nails. Problem solved! ✔️✔️✔️✔️

Fast forward to a couple of nights ago and I removed my freshly dried mattress cover from the dryer and attempted to put it on the mattress. Not mind you my mattress is bigger and almost heavier than me. I tried to slip it on that didn't work, I was struggling to figure out the right side. Stood the mattress up and attempted to put it on that way, no go. It was hard holding it up and trying to figure it out.

Ten minutes later I laughed and said to God, "You are funny!"

He took this struggle of putting a zippered mattress cover on and reminded me that "If I just ask him for help, I could have it."

Little old me asked him "God just help me to get this done so I can go to bed at 10:30 pm. You know I have a set time for bed to ensure I get my 8 hours." I was whining y'all because I was tired.

The mattress cover slipped on perfectly and I laughed. He had my full attention.

Even in the midst of that moment, God reminded me that I said I would spend more time with him.

That my mattress cover problem was a minuscule struggle yet, he was there and he wanted to help me if I just ask.

Sometimes it's easy to call on others to assist you in your everyday struggles of life.

When was the last time you sincerely asked God for help?

When was the last time you acknowledged him in all his ways? So that even in the midst of your struggles the small-scaled ones like unzipping a dress or putting a zippered mattress cover on make you realize that you cannot do this life without him. Even in the small things he yearns for us to want his help.

I laughed at the dress and the mattress cover. I even unzipped the dress several times after I took it off as it felt like the zipper was sticking. It worked perfectly fine.

I've learned that this walk of life no matter where I go or what I do. I need him to walk beside me. As the footprints are in the sand, I need to know that it is him who is my guide and he is always holding my hand.

I share this to say whether you are having a moment that may be minuscule or one that may be tough don't lose sight of God. It's easy to run toward your family or friends, but did you take it to God first?!?

(I do not own the rights to this music)

I am sharing Deon Kipping song "By Myself" because it is a reminder that we cannot do this life without God. I encourage you to allow him to be a lamp, light, comforter, redeemer, deliverer, guide, and most importantly a friend.
