Finding Peace

I believe all of us are on this journey to ensure we are following after our real purpose. During that journey, I hope you find peace.

With all of the calamity that is happening in the world today, we all need peace. Think about the last time you found yourself in a calm state of mind where you weren't concerned about work, bills, family, or what's for dinner. I mean, I can't be the only person who always is thinking about food?!?

On a serious note, food is essential yet; my peace is necessary. I am learning that some of the minor things that use to rile me up are insignificant. I say "insignificant" because once I became aware of how trivial getting my point across, having, the last word, or shutting out others' opinions was my whole mindset changed. I am currently reading New Earth by Eckhart Toole, and it speaks about the ego.

As humans, we all have an Ego. I would highly recommend the book, especially if you are an overthinker. I'll raise my hand and say pick me!! As an overthinker, alpha female, and most importantly, child of God, I have a BIG ego. But we are talking about finding peace, Shishandra. Addressing my ego and therapy has helped me to find peace.

Let me not forget about my faith, as I may have never gone to therapy if I didn't believe the way I do. My faith has pushed me to be open to healing from past hurts, trusting God when nothing makes sense, praying my way through (insert trials and tribulations), and knowing that the tumultuous past that I have had I needed help.

"I created such a BIG ego of who I wanted to become and how I wanted people to perceive me that God had to remind me that NONE of it defines me."

Sometimes we have to be reminded that as we are on this journey that our being here is more significant than what we can imagine. I believe that is where we can find true peace. When we can set aside our ego, which we perceive ourselves to be, and know that LIGHT is needed. With finding that peace, I believe God's light will radiate and will be giving to others. Because finding peace eliminates the following:

  • Drama

  • Confusion'

  • Doubt

  • Complaining

  • Gossiping

  • Worry

  • Anxiety

Finding peace takes time. I want to encourage you that it is worth it. Wherever you are in your life right now, take out time to have a peaceful moment. Eliminate any of the above that does not bring you peace. I promise you that you will see a significant change by finding your peace.

"Embrace God, Find Peace, & Be Fashioned For Him!"

With Care,
