Do It Now!

It is a new year. As some of the social media post state "You have 365 days to make the most of life!" Well, I added some extra words. Yet, I am sure you get it.

It's 2018! Now is the time for you to do all the things that you have set before you to do.

Why? Well, I am happy that

you thought to ask me.

Life isn't going to stop moving and the world isn't going to stop revolving just because you aren't going after your true purpose. NOPE, life goes on and I'm here to let you know that you need to "Do It Now!"

Do something, move! Find a friend or a group of people that will encourage you to take all of that GOODNESS and greatness that is on the inside of you and put it to paper. Apply for that position, I mean look at the current state of the world. You can work that position and ace that future interview.

Write out your vision, and make it plain (Habakkuk 2:2). Stop waiting for the right time because the timing will never be perfect. But the gift you have needs to be shared with the world. Someone is waiting for what you have on the inside, what your hands can create, that book that you need to complete, and what your voice can lend.

Get To Work!

Because again, LIFE isn't going to stop moving and the world isn't going to stop revolving just because you aren't going after your true purpose. Do you understand the words that I am writing or do I need to write it again?? If you are reading this I am sure you get it by now.

DO IT NOW

I've been on this journey, it hasn't been easy, life happens and I lose focus. Last year, I wanted to blog 2x a month. I published a total of 8 blogs and 4 were more promotional. I did not reach my goal and I didn't beat myself up for it either. Because I was living life and enjoying moments. This year I will be more intentional about blogging and writing.

Here are some tips to help you keep your focus.

5 Things Not to Do, While You Are Doing IT Now

1. Do not compare where you are with others.

Comparison is a thief. It will steal your joy and your focus. Focus on you, focus on your gift, focus on your goal, and focus on doing it now. What you have or what you do will not be like others. It is specific to you. Do you.

2. Do not sit on the couch.

No, seriously don't do it. You will fall asleep and put it off until the next day and those days turn into weeks and weeks turn into months. You get it, especially if you work an 8 to 5 that couch is a safe haven of comfort to not accomplishing much. (I am writing this as I sit on the couch, gets up and moves to the table).

3. Do not wing it.

Be intentional about setting aside time to "Do Your It _______________ (insert your purpose pursuing goal here)." Intentional defined is an action performed with awareness; done deliberately; consciously, on purpose.

What that says to me is I will make a concerted effort to intentionally set aside time to write, blog, and you _______________ (insert your purpose pursuing goal here). I'm not saying don't improvise or be creative. No, I am saying be driven by intent and go hard after it.

4. Do not leave God out of it.

Well if you are new to my blog, please know that "I love the LORD and I won't take it back" in my alto off-key voice. While you are writing your vision as I suggested earlier, pray about it and allow God to be involved in it. Always go to him first before you go to others. He will be a great guide and help, the connections that he has for you are greater than you can imagine for yourself.

5. Do NOT give up.

Listen I can go on and on and on and on (like Erykah Badu). You cannot quit once you start. Keep going and do not be so hard on yourself. This life we live in will not be perfect and things will not go as planned. Yet, even in the midst of imperfection, there is a lesson learned, a new idea, a way to do something bigger, greater, and grander. But YOU cannot GIVE UP. You have to keep going and pressing.

For the last time "DO IT NOW." Why? I am happy that you thought to ask me? Because life isn't going to stop moving and the world isn't going to stop revolving just because you aren't going after your true purpose.
