Stay Focused...

What do you do when you find out news that disappoints you? How do you react?

Well, let's talk about it! I tend to withdraw from others and everything. I'll go to work but I really don't want to be there or be bothered.

I have the same conversation with God that goes like this:

Me: "But I am trying to do everything right. I am so strong for others why is this happening to me?"

God: .......... (crickets)

Then the thoughts of retreating intensify, I think about turning my back on God. Because let's be honest this walk isn't always easy. Sometimes I want to quit, go back to not caring and just live my life.

Yet, reality sets in........

(insert the moment where God breaks me down, tears and all. He'll send someone or something to remind me of why I have to continue)

He did not bring me this far for me to give up or throw in the towel. It's what some men would say is a "punk move." So you're just going to quit! You see it's easier said than done and I love my life now with God.

I love how he has changed me, challenges me, and most importantly how he loves me.

So In spite of the disappointments that I may face when I feel as if I am doing EVERYTHING right.

"I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us." Philippians 3:14 New Living Translation (NLT)

Because this walk is BIGGER than my disappointments or my heartache.

If I throw in the towel now I will not see what the end will be or the lives that will be changed because I decided to share the Christ in me with others.

I encourage you and myself to continue to press! Life isn't always easy but do not retreat or withdraw.

There are SOOOOOO much greater things in store for you! I'm learning more and more each day that his grace is sufficient. In my weakness his strength is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9-11).

He is strong for me! He is strong for you!

Stay focused, don't give up, shake off the distractions, and continue to pursue your God-given purpose.
