New Year, New Me

I'm sure you have seen the Facebook statuses and read the post: a new year and new me or some of you all are staying in 2017, I'm going to be BRAND new.

Well, we are currently in the double digit days of the New Year. I'm learning in order for my year or anyone else's year to change that sometimes we have to take a step back and look within.

Some of the "New Year, New Me," mentality is the result of choices and situations that were made in the prior year. Which we have an inclination that the choices aren't the best yet, we do it anyway.

I'm including myself as I'm not a perfect person and I use to have the same mentality.

But my life has been forever changed as with Gods saving power he made me new. There is a newness that I experience every day due to his continuous grace and mercy.

So I challenge each and every one of you to find or continue to look for a "Newness" and be a light to others. Look to ensure that you are living the best life possible.

Will this be easy? Change and being a light with your "Newness" may be challenging for some. But you can do it (Phillipians 4:13) and it's worth it. Matthew 5:16 says it best

"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. (NASB)"

That light and newness you possess will become contagious. Just changing your mindset and elevating it to be more positive will have others to want what you are offering.

You are offering light!

Instead of shrinking back into the "New Year, New Me" mentality take on being a light to others but most importantly for yourself.
