Greatest Gift is Love

Hey Fashioned family! It has been such a wonderful day. I wanted to share with you my OOTD and words of wisdom.

So my look for today was a coral collared dress shirt paired with a salmon and gold skirt. I accessorized the look with a chunk pearl necklace, vintage pearl earrings, and a pearl bracelet. Normally, I stick with a theme even for my accessorize, it was gold and pearls.

I am wearing my hair naturally coiled and of course my look wouldn't be complete without a smile. The smile has become my signature.

Today I had SO many ideas of what I wanted to share with you all. Yet, the word LOVE was placed on my heart to share. That is not only having love for yourself but also others. The bible teaches us in one of my favorite scriptures:

If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn't love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God's secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn't love others, I would be nothing." 1 Corinthians 13:1-2 (NLT)

1 Corinthians chapter 13 focus is love and it goes on to state that out of all the gifts that God could give us, the greatest is LOVE. Sometimes love can be taken forgranted or overlooked when we are in our feelings. At least I know I can disregard it when I am frustrated with others, myself, or work.

So I was reminded today of that love, when I didn't like something someone said to me. I didn't respond to that individual, yet my thoughts were not kind or loving. In that moment I had to catch myself. Regardless of how I feel or what someone says to me that I did not like, I want to respond out of love.

That even applies to my thoughts, I want to think on things that are pure, just, and right. Will everyone say what I want them to say? No. But even if I don't respond or speak. I can still think about the love that God shows me daily and hope it for them.

I encourage you when you are having a moment of frustration, anger, or bitterness go to 1 Corinthians 13. Use it as a daily reminder of how much God loves you and has placed that same love in you to share with others.

Embrace God, Love You, & Be Fashioned For Hem.
