Day 3-4: Surprised Blessing

Hey fashioned family!! I pray that this will be a beautiful day for you. Today I am recapping Day 3-4 of no shopping and surprised blessings. Day 3 was overall great, I was a little frustrated at work and normally when that happens I shop on my lunch break. I work close to a T.J. Maxx, Goodwill, and several other boutiques.

This is how my Day 3 would've played out if I did not use self-control and read my devotional. My lunch hour is at 1 p.m. and to be able to shop during that time, I eat at my desk around noon. Usually, I have a plan of where I want to go, either buy thrifted clothing or shop for new ones. Let's just say I would go to Goodwill, it is literally less than 5 minutes from my workplace. I would use the first 20 minutes looking at their shoes, dresses, blouses, and skirts. Then use 20 minutes to try on the basket full of items I have and eliminate items that I really don't need. This leaves me with purchasing the remaining items and normally it's about $30.00 worth of clothes (around 8-9 items).

Yet, with my goal in mind I did not shop. I worked through my frustrations as I did not want to fail.

Today is Day 4 and I could not sleep this morning. So I wrote in my journal and read the bible. This helped me to look at some of the goals I have for myself this year. When I arrived to work today I found a box on my desk, day 4 started with a surprised blessing:

It was a gift and I was excited to see what was in the box:

This surprised blessing was beautiful and I will definitely will wear them. My co-worker gave me my surprised blessing on Day 4. I love how God works, my co-worker did not know that I am not shopping for 30 days (this includes clothing, accessories, and shoes). This made me super excited about sharing this blessing with you today.

Has my 'No Shopping," been easy NO, its retail therapy for me. Yet, I am thankful that I am able to look at all the things I have and know that I am TRULY blessed beyond measure. Just that one act of kindness from my co-worker says a lot to me and it's contagious. I definitely will be blessing someone else with something special.

I can't wait to see what is to come for the next 26 days of no shopping! Have a wonderful day and remember "Embrace God, Love YOU, and Be Fashioned for Hem!!
