Prints, Pearls, & Possibilities

April 20, 2015

Happy Sunday!  I've had such an amazing weekend and if you reading this I hope you have had a great one too.  I was inspired by the sermon today by my Pastor Gerald Mandrell of Life Changers COGIC. "Take the Limits Off."

I share with you this one thought:  "God has so much invested in you to make you successful. We have to see the impossibilities disappearing and the only thing that is left is the possible."

"Prints, Pearls, & Possibilities," was inspired by that thought and the dress I wore today.  The dress I wore today was thrifted.  I would define thrifitng as purchasing an item either from a thrift store, a boutique that sale's recycled clothing, or the Goodwill.  When I am picking out what I am going to wear, I usually end up wearing one item that is thrifted.   The thrifted item could be a dress, shirt, heels, or an accessory.

The thing I LOVE about thrifting is that I can re-fashion an item or something that may have been old is now new to me.  The dress I wore today was a bold leopard print. I loved the fit and the darts that gave the dress a slightly pleated look.   I accessorized with pearls and pink clear the way pointy pumps.  Here is the completed look:

As you can see the print is bold and to focus on it, I was very minimal with my accesories.  This dress could be paired with numerous bright colors such as yellow, blue, and red.  When wearing prints don't be afraid to add a pop of color.  If you want the print to be the focal point keep your accesories to a bare minimum.

Here is a similar look:

When thrifting take your time and look for unique items.  Remember its not about the clothes you wear but how you rock it!!
