Love Conveniently

It's 2 a.m. again and I am wide awake! Wishing and hoping that I fall back to sleep. You see I know my alarm clock is going to go off at 6:30 a.m. which I wake up 30 minutes early because I said to myself that this year I would do better with my time.

At the beginning of the year, it was wake up at 6 am, pray, journal, and begin the rest of my morning routine. In my mind, it was my "head start" to the day. This was to ensure I spent time with God, set the tone of my day, had breakfast before I arrived to work and to arrive to work at least 5-10 minutes early.

Well, it's officially 67 days into the new year. My so-called "head start" to the new year has been thrown in what I would call File 13 (trash). Yes, I have been dragging.

I hit snooze at least 6 times every morning before I get out of bed. I get distracted by that little bit of clutter because I have time to clean it. I literally live 5 minutes away from my place of work and I'm late sometimes.

This happens over and over until one morning, it's 2 a.m. and I am wide awake. I use to roll over and say a prayer. Lately, I've been journaling, reading devotionals, and talking to God differently. Not the hit the alarm clock 6+ times speech or the hoping I'd fall back to sleep... Nahhh... This talk is different. Why?!?

"Because I believe God picks the most inconvenient time to ME to get my attention."

I think it is his way of reminding me that I am here for you and all he wants is for me to spend time with him. In the busyness of my day, it is these 2 a.m. wake up calls where I complete my reflections with him. I've learned that these reflections with him are needed.

"It reminds me to consider him, his word, his work, his purpose for my life, and what he has called me to do."

To apply ALLLLL of that to my current season of life. For me, it is the ultimate measure of LOVE CONVENIENTLY and the nudge I need from him.

Well, why are you sharing this with us Shishandra?!?

Because no matter what season of life you are in or what situation you are going through he wants you to remember that he is always with you. He's walking beside you, he's holding your hand, he's wiping away those tears of frustration, he wants you to know that though you may doubt yourself, he created you to be more than a conqueror.

"He wants you to know and feel that he LOVES YOU and it is convenient because he allows us easy access to it."

His love is never-ending, unconditional, and sacrificial it fits any circumstance that you may face. So I encourage you to take advantage of those 2 a.m., 4 a.m., or 5 a.m. "head starts" of your day. Whether it is journaling, reflecting, quoting positive affirmations to yourself in the mirror, praying, or just sitting in quietness with him. It's all LOVE.

"Embrace God, Love You, & Be Fashioned For Him!"

With Care,
