The Power of a Praying Woman | Book Review

This year is the year of completing books. Say it with me "The Year of Completing Books" whether it is something you are reading or that book you are writing. The Power of a Praying Woman is the book I've been reading since the beginning of the year.

This is not the first time I've read this book. I started reading it last year and ended up stopping halfway through the book. This year I made a concerted effort to complete it. I did!! Listen this book was SO refreshing not only does the author Stormie Omartian provide prayers at the end of each chapter referencing the chapter title, the stories are relatable. This book wasn't "preacheresque." Real life situations, with tips and tools that any believer could apply to their walk.

Transparent moment: I felt convicted several times while reading this book. Do you want to know why?

"Because I am not perfect and I can admit where

I am lacking in my walk with God. One of my greatest

needs is to draw closer to God daily. "

Yet, with life happening whether it's family, career, or anything personal I sometimes get distracted and lose sight of where I am with him. This book as well as reading the bible, prayer, and other daily devotionals pushed me to see areas I need to put in that WORK. Here are some of the titles of Chapters that really stood out and spoke to me:

"Lord, Help Me to Be a Forgiving Person.

Lord Guide Me in All My Relationships.

Lord Protect Me in the Center of Your Will. "

I believe all of the chapters are written to remind you of how the Lord can be so much more to us than what we allow him to be. In addition, she reminds us of "God's Promises to Me," this follows the prayer and is scriptures that affirm it.

I find it hard sometimes to read books as such as I am a note taker and I love to highlight sentences that stand out. Instead of me speed reading through the book. I read to apply it to my everyday life as well as to get an understanding of the author's intent.

It is pretty clear and I shared this with a friend that the

author "Was Walking with Jesus" while writing this book.

The Power of a Praying Woman

I said that humorously but seriously I Got My Whole Life Checked ✓✓✓✓ with this book. It helped remind me what areas I needed to increase and decrease as I walk with Christ. This is not a paid or sponsored review, this is my opinion and I wanted to share with you all my thoughts. This series is not just limited to women, the author has books for wives, husbands, and parents.

Whatever you are reading whether it is self-help, inspirational, or leisurely ensure its adding value to your life.
